What is Custom Instructional Design?

Custom instructional design focuses on creating educational experiences tailored to the diverse needs, preferences, and abilities of the individuals on your team. Recognizing that people absorb and process information differently, we incorporate various modalities and techniques to address their different learning styles,  ensure inclusivity, and provide comprehensive support for everyone.

Visual learners grasp information best when it’s presented through images, diagrams, charts, and other visual aids. They benefit from seeing concepts mapped out, which helps them understand and remember information more effectively. In our training programs, we integrate visual elements to cater to these learners, enhancing their comprehension and retention.

Auditory learners prefer to receive information through listening. They excel in environments where information is delivered verbally, such as lectures, discussions, and audio recordings. To support auditory learners, our programs include interactive discussions and opportunities for verbal engagement, facilitating better understanding and recall.

Reading and writing learners process information most effectively through the written word. They thrive on written texts, notes, and lists. Our instructional design incorporates comprehensive written materials and encourages note-taking and writing exercises to support the learning process for these learners.

Kinesthetic learners learn best through hands-on experiences and physical activities. They prefer to engage directly with the material, using touch and movement to understand concepts. We design our programs to include practical exercises and simulations, allowing kinesthetic learners to interact physically with the content, thereby enhancing their learning experience.

Logical learners, or analytical learners, prefer using logic, reasoning, and systems to understand information. They excel at recognizing patterns and making connections between concepts. Our training incorporates problem-solving activities and structured frameworks to engage logical learners, helping them to process information methodically.

Social learners, also known as interpersonal learners, thrive in collaborative environments. They learn best through group activities, discussions, and sharing ideas with others. To accommodate social learners, we incorporate group work and interactive sessions into our programs, fostering a collaborative learning atmosphere.

Solitary learners, or intrapersonal learners, prefer to study alone and use self-study techniques. They are introspective and can concentrate well independently. Our instructional design provides opportunities for individual reflection and self-paced learning modules, catering to the needs of solitary learners.
